Dance Workshops, Primary Schools, Northamptonshire

Create Dancers

These dance workshops have been carefully created to develop skills that run alongside curriculum teachings, whilst offering opportunities for creative expression and growth.

Dance enables young people to gain artistic skills and discipline, as well as developing their ability in physical interaction, team working, problem solving, observing, evaluating, verbal and non-verbal communication.

These dance workshops are not only creative sessions to teach students about the curriculum but they offer a safe space to inspire and motivate them to come of their shell and express themselves through movement, emotion and music.

Through dance, children can gain a multitude of important developments; sensory and spatial awareness, coordination, concentration and mobility.

Through dance, students express, question and celebrate human experience, using the body as the instrument and movement as the medium for personal, social, emotional, spiritual and physical communication.

    History of Dance Workshop

The History of Dance Workshop is a great way to enrich your pupils' learning of what would traditionally be a classroom topic.

During the workshop, students can explore various structured dances from historical periods such as The Tudors, The Victorians, The Vikings, as well as dances during World War 1 & 2.

A lot of the choreography includes partner work which develops coordination and rhythm.

Ben also provides a Decades Dance Workshop, which explores more modern styles of dance.
